Sorry about the misinformation on the Thursday post. A new development came about and Paige wasn't able to come home. See Jamie's blog for more information.

Awesome news....

Paige will be coming home sometime this week (probably Wednesday or Thursday). She's doing great! She'll be coming home with a feeding tube and a heart monitor. She's doing well sucking on a binky!
The doctors have given the Bloomfields some precautions to follow. Paige won't be able to leave the house for a few months.
Visits will be limited (please be considerate of this...no kids, no one with any kind of illness (or anyone who has been around anyone with any kind of illness ie: sniffles, coughs, stomach issues, etc.) because Paige is very susceptible to infection, any illness could be life-threatening to her, and would put her back into the hospital.
Please be considerate of Jamie too. She is still healing and needs her rest.
Call before visiting and keep your visits brief.

Twenty-eight years ago today...

I gave birth to this wonderful son.... This is Jordan. He is an amazing person. He is brilliant, has a fun sense of humor, is a hard worker, he is a good friend, he has a strong testimony of the gospel, and he has his own house. He is also single (so if there's anyone out there who wants to line him up, let me know...hey it worked for a friend of mine...). Now that my readership is so much higher....I might as well try...right? Jordan has a lot of single friends (including several of Jamie's brothers!)...so group blind-dating works too! Seriously, he will probably be really mad at me for doing this but he says he doesn't "read Blogs". I did say he has a great sense of humor right? Jordan is a wonderful son and great example to me. Have an amazing year!
Happy Birthday Jordan!
(even though I know you "don't read Blogs").
We love you!

Make sure you check out...

Jamie has posted her journal of the last week or so on her Blog (click on "Blog" & it will go to it). There's lots of darling pictures & thoughts. Including Paige wide awake! Thanks Stephanie P. for the bassinet! I know it will be alot of help to Jamie. Jamie has been able to hold Paige while she is getting fed & while they teach her how to suck. Paige is getting the hang of it! Jamie is looking great!

Wanted....

When Paige comes home from the hospital, Jamie is going to need a bassinet. She is wondering if anyone out there has one that she could borrow for a few months? Just leave a comment here and she will get in contact with you. Thanks so much! Paige is doing wonderfully! They got rid of the oxygen cannula and the oxygen monitor line that was on her forehead. She's making great progress! Jamie's doing well too. Just trying to recover and take it easy (rather hard for Jamie as we all know!...she's really trying though!). She and Keith spend alot of time at the hospital with Paige. The kids are doing okay too. Thanks for all the service everyone is giving the Bloomfields...I know they really appreciate it!

Good News!

Paige is making great progress...Her wires and tubes are getting fewer and fewer. She is no longer intubated. She has a nasal canula to give her oxygen but it will be gone soon. Her sternum is wired and her chest is stitched closed. Jamie says it looks beautiful. She still has her PIC line for medication and a couple of other IV lines that will be gone soon. She's still really feisty. She's awake, looks around and looks at whoever is talking. Jaime and Keith both got to hold her today (Sunday) which was so awesome! She no longer has a feeding tube. Her next assignment is to continue learning to eat on her own. She's down to only one medication. She's doing great! Jamie looks wonderful. She is amazing...always such a good example of optimism, courage, and strength. Paige will be 1 week old on Monday. It's amazing what has happened in just a week!

Keith, Jamie, & PaigeSeveral of us visited the Bloomfields last night. This picture pretty much sums everything up:
*Jamie is doing great! She is so happy she gets to be right there with Paige.
*Keith is doing great too...even though he's short on sleep.
*Paige is doing amazing! She's so sweet and so cute...looks just like Amberly!
The surgery went well yesterday. Keith explained what they did in the surgery (complete with a diagram of the heart etc.!) and it's amazing...we are so fortunate to live in a time when such medical advances are possible and available. That, and more importantly, alot of prayers were/are being answered. Paige is doing really well, she's a great patient. It's just a matter of recovering now. Jaime will be discharged on Friday, but is still able to stay right in the room (it has a bed, private bathroom, etc.) with Paige. Keep the Bloomfields in your prayers and I'll continue to post as I hear updates....Keep those comments/well-wishes coming! They are appreciated so much!

Surgery....

This is the same picture I posted on Monday. I've had several people ask what the tubes/wires are so I'll explain: The wires (red, white, & black ones) with the circle/squares are to monitor the heart beat etc. the tube in her mouth (which is taped across the top of her mouth) is hooked to a respirator which breathes for her (and thus keeps her oxygen levels where they want them to be). Jamie said Paige does pretty well breathing on her own but it is important that the oxygen levels stay where they are supposed to be so she will stay intubated for awhile. I'm sure after surgery she'll have even more tubes & wires....
8:00 am: Paige's surgery was scheduled for 7:00 am this morning. Keith told us it would be a 6-8 hour operation to reroute the needed veins and arteries to the heart. I will post again as soon as I hear anything..... 10:20 am I spoke with Jamie this morning. Here is what she told me... Paige was born at 9:57 am weighed 8 lbs.12.8 oz. and was 21 inches long. That's exactly what Keith weighed when he was born! Jamie was able to hold Paige for about 30 minutes yesterday. The kids got to go in and see Paige last night. Paige is in surgery right now. The surgery will be at least 8 hours long. They are actually doing 3 things...1) Putting a shunt in one of the veins for more blood flow to her lungs 2) relocating the veins & arteries to make the "plumbing" of her heart more correct 3) something to the back of her heart (Jamie wasn't quite sure exactly what). Paige had a CT scan yesterday and ultrasound. They found out that her internal organs (liver & gall bladder) are in the correct places (they had thought previously that they were on the opposite side of where they were supposed to be) but she doesn't have a spleen. That shouldn't be too much of a problem...she will just have to be on an antibiotic the rest of her life. Her brain looks great. The doctors will call Jamie & Keith throughout the day as the surgery goes on to let them know of the progress. Paige will be in the hospital for at least 1 month recovering. Jamie will be "discharged" tomorrow but she will have a room at the hospital where she will get to stay with Paige during her recovery. Jamie will be able to come & go as she wants. As a side note from me: It was so fun to talk to Jamie. She is still as upbeat and positive as ever! She is such a great example to all of us. Paige is not out of the woods yet by any means....please keep your prayers coming! Jamie & Keith have their computer at the hospital now and are reading the blogs (this one and their own) and your comments. They mean alot to them so please leave your comments & well-wishes! The Harmony Park Quilt group is having the drive-by quilt show today....if you haven't had a chance to see the "Friendship Quilt" or as Jamie calls it her "Comfort Blanket" yet, it will be displayed (after the Trunk Show @ Vicki's at 11 am) in the Hogle's front yard. *Jamie: If any of this is incorrect call me and I'll change it! 1:19 pm Paige is out of surgery and is doing really well! The surgeons were able to do everything they wanted to. The surgery took just 6 hours! Everything looks great....now for the month long (at least) recovery. Jamie told me this morning that the recovery will still be like a roller coaster with it's ups and downs with good days and bad. We're glad everything went so well thus far!

Another day....

7:51 am: Hopefully, I'll be hearing soon what the doctors & family discussed. Meanwhile, Jamie's sister, Janalee, posted here on Jamie's blog...for your reading/viewing pleasure! If you didn't see Paige's picture yesterday....make sure you scroll down on yesterday's post. She's darling! 10:30 am : Surgery is scheduled for 7 am tomorrow. Jamie is doing great...able to walk around today etc. Paige is doing great too...going to have a CT scan today for more info before the surgery. 3:51 pm I'm waiting to talk to Jamie but in the meantime....check out her blog....someone (I won't tell anyone Jana!) has been hacking into her blog and she has a lot of darling pictures and postings to share!

Today's the big day!

Monday, January 11th: Our friend, Jamie, is scheduled to have her sweet baby Paige today. I will be posting throughout the next little while to keep everyone aware of what is going on! Please continue to keep them both (and their family) in your prayers! Jamie's C-section is scheduled for 9 am. 10:00 am Haven't heard anything yet! 10:12 am Paige is here! She's PINK and on her way to NICU. Jamie is doing well, getting stitched up, then on to her room! That's all we know for right now. More info soon! 10:29 am Paige weighs 8 lbs. 8 oz. (*who won Rylan?) not sure how long she is but her eyes are open, she's looking around and she's "feisty" (that's from Keith!) *Jamie told me Saturday that Rylan wanted everyone to guess how much Paige would weigh. The winner would get a bag of M&M's ...like he did when he guessed where his Primary teacher (Ron G.) was called to serve his mission! Fun kid!!!! 1:02 pm Jaime's in with Paige right now. Paige is having an echocardiogram done. Jamie's doing great, she can breathe again!!!! Paige is still doing as well as can be expected. She will probably have the surgery tomorrow! That's such good news! 3:30 pm Just talked to Susan....Jamie is finally sleeping! All is well. Testing is over (for now!) Paige continues to do well. The doctors are having a conference tomorrow with the famiy etc. at 7 am to discuss all that will be going on (surgery, etc.). That's about it for today...unless I hear anything else. I'll be back posting in the morning. On behalf of Jamie & Keith...thank you for your prayers and for fasting for their family. Thank you for your kind comments on the blog....I know they will enjoy reading them! 4:30 pm Paige actually weighed in at 8 lbs. 11.8 oz. Her oxygen levels continue to do well. The nurses/doctors want the levels to be above 70% and Paige is running 84%-86%. The rest of the family is doing well. Jamie's trying to get some sleep now!

Here she is....

A little bit of Christmas....

Decorations put up in record time.... Hatch Family party where we always have the Nativity... reinacted by our grandkids now... Nixon was a wiseman....here he is asking his mom....Are you sure this is what a wiseman really wore? Thanks to Great Grandma Hatch for sewing all of these amazing costumes....
Adilee and Paislee as two of the many angels. Many years ago we were thrilled when Kimberley and Josh were born. After 6 grandsons (not counting Josh) we finally had a female "Mary". Cam always did make a great "Mary" though....long eyelashes, curly hair....Ha Ha!
The final scene...this is the best picture I took...others had some non-flattering images in them ...we'll leave it at that (mostly Grandmas popping in just as the picture was being taken).
Santa visited...Adilee got used to Santa this year. She wanted a "Shopping Cart".
Nixon was a "big boy" this year (with some encouraging by his mom) and tolerated Santa...but was quick to hop down off of Santa's lap (with the goods!)...
You ask..."Where are the pictures from Christmas Day?" Me too! I think Kreston took a few on his camera, and the girls did too, hopefully they'll send me some...
Some happenings:
*Kim, Dayne, and Nixon were able to come for Christmas!
*Everyone spent the night here (a tradition) so we were all together to celebrate Christmas Morning.
*Some of the guys (Jacob & Jordan) were going to stay up the whole night playing "Call of Duty" I think they made it to 4 am.
*Kreston celebrated his 10th year as the Stage Manager for the Temple Lights/Programs.
*We had a wonderful Christmas dinner with my sister's family and my mom was able to be there too! (Thanks Robin, Paul, & Scott for making that happen)
*We had a great Christmas!
After Christmas, we went to Zoolights! This is the picture we took when we got home and everyone was saying goodbye to Kim, Dayne, & Nixon. We had a wonderful time with everyone here.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas too!
