About Reagan...

I just took this picture today!
I told you she has chunky cheeks!
I still didn't get a great picture of her hair...
she was going to a "Hospital Discharge Class"
with her mom & dad~
Their nurse insisted that she wear this darling bow!
She's a keeper for sure!
She loves to be swaddled.
She has a tiny little mouth and when she cries her lower jaw/lip quivers!
She has her Daddy's chin.
She has a "girlie" cry...high pitched and not very loud.
Mom & Dad are doing well too! Welcome to the family Reagan!
We love you!

A new look...

I attended a "blogging class" taught by Jamie Bloomfield at our ward's Relief Society Retreat this past Saturday.
It motivated me to do a little work...I've been wanting to change the look of my blog (especially since "the cutest blog on the block" had it's little issue) for awhile.
I worked on it until I got frustrated (doesn't take much to push me that far!) then I called my extremely talented daughter, Kimberley, and she fixed it all up for me!
I'm really happy with the way it looks now.
I have a couple of other things I still want to add but that will have to wait until I can handle being frustrated again!
Maybe this new look will inspire me to post all of the stuff that's been going on lately.
Don't hold your breath but it will come (hopefully soon!).
BTW if you are reading this...please leave comments...I really want to know if anyone reads this stuff!

Thanks to Drew for making sure this picture was taken and for giving my son a hug! What a wonderful surprise!

Meet a new member of our family...

For my birthday yesterday, Kreston took me shopping.
My dear husband bought me a new car... I have been wanting one of these for awhile. I already have a name picked out... His name is "Edward" because when he gets in the sun he glistens (even though I am a member of "Team Jacob" and I don't really care for the actor they chose to play "Edward" but if I named it "Alice" or any of the rest of the Cullen family would you really get it?) We get to pick him up today! They promised to make him beautiful, bright and shiny...

Happy Birthday to you two...

Twenty-six years ago our twins were born.
actually on June 12, 1984
(Sorry, I wasn't able to post yesterday)
(some day I will learn how to use a scanner and be able to include all the cute baby/kid pictures I have of my children..I have some great ones!)
Kimberley Hatch (Baby "A") was born first (by C-section).
Weighed in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. at 6:50 pm.Kimberley has always been a sweet daughter. She is very kind and loving. She has a very peaceful spirit about her. She has a very natural way with children. Kim has a strong testimony of the Gospel. She has a very tender heart. She and her husband (Dayne) and son #1 (Nixon), and soon to be son #2 (Jaxon) live in Pleasant Grove, Utah. We don't get to see them as often as we would like to. We miss them terribly and enjoy it so much when we are together.
We love you Kimberley...Happy Birthday!
Joshua Kreston Hatch (Baby "B") was born second (also by C-section)
Weighed in at 6 lbs. 12 oz. at 6:51 pm.
Josh has a great sense of humor. He is always smiling and always has something funny to say. One of his favorite things to say about he and Kimberley is that they were "Womb-mates". He is very tender and kind. He is always willing to help others. Josh has always been a wonderful son. He is very responsible and is a very hard worker. He has a strong testimony of the Gospel. He and his wife (Becky) and daughter #1 (Adilee) and daughter #2 (Paislee) live in San Tan Valley (formerly known as Queen Creek). We love being able to see them often.
Happy Birthday, Josh, we love you!
Thank you both for being such great kids and wonderful examples to us!

24 days and counting...

June is here...
I can't believe Jacob leaves at the end of this month...
More lists... Kreston and Jacob went to General Conference (and snowboarding). They also did a lot of shopping. This is the contents of just one of the packages we've received. Apparently, they get to wear bright ties in Jacob's mission...it is Mexico after all! Don't worry I'm sending some more conservative ties with him too. He's been to the temple. Sorry we didn't get a picture of everyone that attended. Thank you so much for the support! What an awesome experience. We still have a list of things to do but we're getting there! I just can't believe the time for him to leave is coming so soon. Kimberley sent me this for Mother's Day. Yes, I cried when I opened it (I cried when I opened every one of the shipments from Missionary Mall too!). I'm sure there will be many more opportunities for tears....
24 days and counting...

Catching up...

I finally have some time (and desire) to download my pictures off of my camera. To avoid one long post, I will spare you and just post more often (at least until I run out of pictures!).
We went to Rocky Point for Spring Break. My sister and brother-in-law invited us to stay with them at their house. It is beautiful and right on the beach. We had a wonderful time....
Kelley and Adi in the surf...
Adi and Paislee resting after a long day of sand & water...
Paul & Robin know where all the good food is...
Paul was kind enough to take us parasailing on the beach. Always fun and exciting!!!
Kayaking...
Jet skiing...
Playing in the sand...
Sailing...
We went to the "Mayan Palace" to go swimming...
Playing in the sun...
Feeding the birds (yes, that's a box from "Sweet Cakes" full of yummy cookies that were being fed to the birds...the owners of "SC" were some of our fun neighbors!)
Becky and the girls in their "Mexican Dresses"...
Adi was ill most of the time but was still a trooper...
Finally giving in to her fever...
Thanks Robin and Paul for a wonderful, fun, relaxing Spring Break!

So I've been gone for awhile...
Missed last week's episode of "Dancing With The Stars" ...
Caught up on "hulu" yesterday...
Saw that Jake got kicked off...
And saw the "camera check" by Vienna...
Pitiful....I couldn't even remember her name (I had to look it up!)
Hopefully for good...from national tv.

So...

Thank you for coming to the party on Friday night....
These are just a few of the wonderful friends and family who came.... Pictures taken by a (nervous/excited) mom...thus the partial bodies etc.
We appreciate your support!
Jacob
opened his "big white envelope" Friday at about 7 pm.
He was called to serve in the
Mexico
(or as he called it "Chi-who-a-who-a" ...sort of a Polynesian version)
Mission
He will report on June 30, 2010.
He is thrilled!

I woke Jacob up to "check the mail". This is what he found....
It sits here on the island...waiting to be opened at 7:00 pm tonight....
To be continued.... (PS. That box in the mailbox was a little something for me...those online quilt shops sure are quick in sending things....)

Happy, Happy Birthday....

It's Kreston's Birthday today!
I get to brag on him a little today.....
As many of you know, Kreston is quiet, doesn't talk much, and he's a wonderful person . What you may not know about Kreston is what a kind, generous, funny, intelligent, patient, sensitive, persistent, sincere, and amazing person he is. Kreston built a business practically from the ground up including writing a medical software program called "Medisoft". It was the top seller/most used medical software program for many years. He taught himself how to program computers, build them etc. He loves to travel, spend time with his family, play video games, spend time at Lake Powell, SCUBA dive, snow ski, water ski, go quad riding, go hunting, and spend time with his friends. When something needs to be done and Kreston doesn't know how to do it, he studies and learns...and gets it done. One of the qualities that I admire most about Kreston is that I can honestly say I have never heard him say anything bad about anyone. He lives by Thumper's mother's rule: "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all".
Another thing you may not know about Kreston is that he sends his mom flowers on his birthday and always tells her Thank You! and how much he appreciates her and loves her. That is another quality that I admire because he treats me that way too.He loves his grandkids and they adore him..... He loves his family and is a great example to us.
Happy Birthday Kreston!
We love you!

Christmas in February ?!!

For Christmas this year....a cute friend
(have I ever mentioned all of my cute friends before? I am so blessed to have them.)
came up with the idea that instead of exchanging gifts
we should treat ourselves to lunch and a "play" day at Gammage!
What a smart girl! We had a wonderful time....I give it two thumbs up (way up!).
Mary Poppins was wonderful too!
Included..was a bonus!
We had a special backstage tour by this
fantastic actress/Peggy's houseguest.
She was amazing in Mary Poppins...
it was so fun to watch you Gail
and thanks so much for the tour!
(Sorry I couldn't get a picture of Gail).
Thanks Cute Friends...it was
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Happy Valentine's Day

These are the cute Valentine's Day cards that
Adi & Paislee made us....
Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

One year older....

Another birthday to celebrate in our family!
Dallin Young
We are so happy to have Dallin in our family. He is perfect for Ashley! He is a tease. He loves to do a lot of the same things Ashley (and other members of our family) likes to do (SCUBA diving, quad riding, the Dunes, snowboarding, wakeboarding, etc.) He works at his Dad's company, Sawmill Custom Cabinets. He is very talented and does amazing work. His dream is to start "flipping" houses. He's going to be building a cabin on a lot he and Ashley just bought in the mountains. He's excited to get started. Dallin is fun to be around and has a great sense of humor. He has a great smile. He is kind and generous. He serves in the Young Men in his ward and is a great leader and example to those young men. *As you might tell from an earlier post...both of our married daughters are married to men by the last name of "Young". Both of their family lines are from the same wife (Mary Angel) of Brigham Young. Interesting huh? We hope you have a great day and a wonderful year!
Happy Birthday Dallin!

Sunday, February 7, 2010

Look who is having a birthday!

Yep! Today is Jacob's 19th Birthday! Jacob (or Jake as his friends call him) is a wonderful son. He is very intelligent, has a really fun sense of humor and is always happy. Jacob has many special qualities: he's a good friend, he's a good brother, and he's lots of fun to be around. He has always had a special way with children. Little kids love Jake (or Jake Jake as his nieces and nephew call him). Jacob has lots of friends and he loves hanging out with them. He also enjoys Lacrosse and his new love of bowling (he even has his own shoes and bowling ball(s). One of his favorite pastimes is to play "Call of Duty" and he is proficient in it. He always tells me how he's hit another level of the game or how well he has done at it. I just smile and praise him and act like I know what he's talking about! Now that all of his dental/orthodontic/oral surgery is finished he can get his missionary papers sent in (possibly this week-Yikes!). He's so excited to get out there and serve! We are so proud of you Jake and we love you lots! Happy Birthday from all of us!

Sorry about the misinformation on the Thursday post. A new development came about and Paige wasn't able to come home. See Jamie's blog for more information.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Awesome news....

Paige will be coming home sometime this week (probably Wednesday or Thursday). She's doing great! She'll be coming home with a feeding tube and a heart monitor. She's doing well sucking on a binky!
The doctors have given the Bloomfields some precautions to follow. Paige won't be able to leave the house for a few months.
Visits will be limited (please be considerate of this...no kids, no one with any kind of illness (or anyone who has been around anyone with any kind of illness ie: sniffles, coughs, stomach issues, etc.) because Paige is very susceptible to infection, any illness could be life-threatening to her, and would put her back into the hospital.
Please be considerate of Jamie too. She is still healing and needs her rest.
Call before visiting and keep your visits brief.

Twenty-eight years ago today...

I gave birth to this wonderful son.... This is Jordan. He is an amazing person. He is brilliant, has a fun sense of humor, is a hard worker, he is a good friend, he has a strong testimony of the gospel, and he has his own house. He is also single (so if there's anyone out there who wants to line him up, let me know...hey it worked for a friend of mine...). Now that my readership is so much higher....I might as well try...right? Jordan has a lot of single friends (including several of Jamie's brothers!)...so group blind-dating works too! Seriously, he will probably be really mad at me for doing this but he says he doesn't "read Blogs". I did say he has a great sense of humor right? Jordan is a wonderful son and great example to me. Have an amazing year!
Happy Birthday Jordan!
(even though I know you "don't read Blogs").
We love you!

Make sure you check out...

Jamie has posted her journal of the last week or so on her Blog (click on "Blog" & it will go to it). There's lots of darling pictures & thoughts. Including Paige wide awake! Thanks Stephanie P. for the bassinet! I know it will be alot of help to Jamie. Jamie has been able to hold Paige while she is getting fed & while they teach her how to suck. Paige is getting the hang of it! Jamie is looking great!

Wanted....

When Paige comes home from the hospital, Jamie is going to need a bassinet. She is wondering if anyone out there has one that she could borrow for a few months? Just leave a comment here and she will get in contact with you. Thanks so much! Paige is doing wonderfully! They got rid of the oxygen cannula and the oxygen monitor line that was on her forehead. She's making great progress! Jamie's doing well too. Just trying to recover and take it easy (rather hard for Jamie as we all know!...she's really trying though!). She and Keith spend alot of time at the hospital with Paige. The kids are doing okay too. Thanks for all the service everyone is giving the Bloomfields...I know they really appreciate it!

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Good News!

Paige is making great progress...Her wires and tubes are getting fewer and fewer. She is no longer intubated. She has a nasal canula to give her oxygen but it will be gone soon. Her sternum is wired and her chest is stitched closed. Jamie says it looks beautiful. She still has her PIC line for medication and a couple of other IV lines that will be gone soon. She's still really feisty. She's awake, looks around and looks at whoever is talking. Jaime and Keith both got to hold her today (Sunday) which was so awesome! She no longer has a feeding tube. Her next assignment is to continue learning to eat on her own. She's down to only one medication. She's doing great! Jamie looks wonderful. She is amazing...always such a good example of optimism, courage, and strength. Paige will be 1 week old on Monday. It's amazing what has happened in just a week!

Compassionate Service

If you would like to help the Bloomfields please contact Dixie C. Thanks!

Keith, Jamie, & PaigeSeveral of us visited the Bloomfields last night. This picture pretty much sums everything up:
*Jamie is doing great! She is so happy she gets to be right there with Paige.
*Keith is doing great too...even though he's short on sleep.
*Paige is doing amazing! She's so sweet and so cute...looks just like Amberly!
The surgery went well yesterday. Keith explained what they did in the surgery (complete with a diagram of the heart etc.!) and it's amazing...we are so fortunate to live in a time when such medical advances are possible and available. That, and more importantly, alot of prayers were/are being answered. Paige is doing really well, she's a great patient. It's just a matter of recovering now. Jaime will be discharged on Friday, but is still able to stay right in the room (it has a bed, private bathroom, etc.) with Paige. Keep the Bloomfields in your prayers and I'll continue to post as I hear updates....Keep those comments/well-wishes coming! They are appreciated so much!

Surgery....

This is the same picture I posted on Monday. I've had several people ask what the tubes/wires are so I'll explain: The wires (red, white, & black ones) with the circle/squares are to monitor the heart beat etc. the tube in her mouth (which is taped across the top of her mouth) is hooked to a respirator which breathes for her (and thus keeps her oxygen levels where they want them to be). Jamie said Paige does pretty well breathing on her own but it is important that the oxygen levels stay where they are supposed to be so she will stay intubated for awhile. I'm sure after surgery she'll have even more tubes & wires....
8:00 am: Paige's surgery was scheduled for 7:00 am this morning. Keith told us it would be a 6-8 hour operation to reroute the needed veins and arteries to the heart. I will post again as soon as I hear anything..... 10:20 am I spoke with Jamie this morning. Here is what she told me... Paige was born at 9:57 am weighed 8 lbs.12.8 oz. and was 21 inches long. That's exactly what Keith weighed when he was born! Jamie was able to hold Paige for about 30 minutes yesterday. The kids got to go in and see Paige last night. Paige is in surgery right now. The surgery will be at least 8 hours long. They are actually doing 3 things...1) Putting a shunt in one of the veins for more blood flow to her lungs 2) relocating the veins & arteries to make the "plumbing" of her heart more correct 3) something to the back of her heart (Jamie wasn't quite sure exactly what). Paige had a CT scan yesterday and ultrasound. They found out that her internal organs (liver & gall bladder) are in the correct places (they had thought previously that they were on the opposite side of where they were supposed to be) but she doesn't have a spleen. That shouldn't be too much of a problem...she will just have to be on an antibiotic the rest of her life. Her brain looks great. The doctors will call Jamie & Keith throughout the day as the surgery goes on to let them know of the progress. Paige will be in the hospital for at least 1 month recovering. Jamie will be "discharged" tomorrow but she will have a room at the hospital where she will get to stay with Paige during her recovery. Jamie will be able to come & go as she wants. As a side note from me: It was so fun to talk to Jamie. She is still as upbeat and positive as ever! She is such a great example to all of us. Paige is not out of the woods yet by any means....please keep your prayers coming! Jamie & Keith have their computer at the hospital now and are reading the blogs (this one and their own) and your comments. They mean alot to them so please leave your comments & well-wishes! The Harmony Park Quilt group is having the drive-by quilt show today....if you haven't had a chance to see the "Friendship Quilt" or as Jamie calls it her "Comfort Blanket" yet, it will be displayed (after the Trunk Show @ Vicki's at 11 am) in the Hogle's front yard. *Jamie: If any of this is incorrect call me and I'll change it! 1:19 pm Paige is out of surgery and is doing really well! The surgeons were able to do everything they wanted to. The surgery took just 6 hours! Everything looks great....now for the month long (at least) recovery. Jamie told me this morning that the recovery will still be like a roller coaster with it's ups and downs with good days and bad. We're glad everything went so well thus far!
